North Main Studio's handcrafted
porcelain pottery has been fired to cone 10 / reduction (2345
degrees). Individually crafted by me, each piece is
stamped with several marks at the leather hard stage
(the clay is still damp): a "hand" for handcrafted, my
signature "Carl Erickson" and "NMS." Larger pots are
also stamped with a seasonal stamp and a stamp indicating the
year it was created. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter are
represented respectively by an iris, a barn swallow, an oak leaf
and a snowflake. The 2006 annual stamp consisted of a Northern Pike
and 2006 in a rectangle. These stamps are visable on many of the
pots shown.
